Do you have any employees that seem to be late all the time? Or maybe they take very long breaks, they leave early when they shouldn’t, or they miss punching the clock often? Not only are these a hassle for you, especially the missed punching (you have to go fix those, or they don’t get paid correctly) but they cost you and your company money, sometimes lots of money. In our business, punctuality of the support staff directly affects the happiness of our customers, (someone needs to pick up the phone) so that quality is highly regarded and needs to be maintained.

This is one of the areas of TimeForce where its value can really save you some time, help you more effectively manage your staff, and save you some money. Behold Error Monitoring.

If Timeforce knows when your staff is supposed to be working (Scheduling) there are tons of things, via Error Monitoring, it can keep track of and report back to you. In Late, Out Early, Unscheduled Absence, Missed Punch, Long Break, Long Lunch and Short Lunch are just a few. There are new laws in some states on Lunch policies that you really must watch out for or it could cause you big problems down the road, and TimeForce can keep you aware and on top of those issues before they blow up in your face.

All of these errors are customizable to your specific need; you can even have the system email your supervisors when they happen. (The email errors option does require system configuration and may not work on all networks).

Finally you can set up a point system that can assist your supervisors in tracking when your employees reach an unacceptable level of occurrences for those errors. Again these are totally customizable and can be used as minimally or extensively as you need. You can even change the error and the point value down to the employee level so that if you have someone on probation you can adjust the severity of the occurrence for that person, and leave everyone else the same.

Sometimes just the fact the errors start showing up on the timecard that the employees can see can make a huge difference; other times a more comprehensive program is required. All in all, this is just another feature of TimeForce that can help you tighten up your organization and make your life a little easier.

Setting this up is fairly easy; you need to start with Scheduling and then work into Error monitoring, and instructions are in the documentation. Our Training and Implementation departments can teach you or even just set it up for you. If you’re more of hands on kind of person give it a shot, tech support is here for you if you get stuck.

As always give us a call if you need any help, and have a great month.

Thanks

David Kelly
